Happy Sunday! Here are the happenings this week…

Hello Eagles, Ms. Garcia here with your Sunday information for 2-10-19

Due to the huge number of kids involved with the Variety Show (25% of Allen School!), we are going to have 2 performances so that we can fit all of the people who want to see the show in the auditorium.  The dates will be Tuesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 7.  There will be a rehearsal this Thursday right after school.  We will send you more information about the performance nights as it approaches.

We still have some families who have not turned in their zone transfers for the next school year.  Please remember, if you want your child to return to Allen next year, this form must be completed and turned in.  Please pick up a form from the office.

Student Council is sponsoring a Sock Drive to help the homeless in our community.  Please bring in new socks this week. Thank you for supporting this outreach to help the less fortunate right here in our community.

Jump for Heart will be held this Thursday during your child’s lunch.  Any money collected will go directly to the American Heart Association to help with research for heart disease.

We will have a large group of staff from our District here Tuesday, February 12th on campus.  Please make sure to give them a warm Allen welcome.

Finally a reminder that there is no school this Friday or the following Monday in honor of President’s weekend.

Sunday Information for the Week of January 27th

Hello Eagles, Ms. Garcia here with your Sunday Information for January 27, 2019.

The Eagles are super busy!

We had so many amazing acts at the variety show auditions and we will see all of you performers, crew members, and hosts at our first rehearsal this Thursday, January 31st right after school. If you were at the audition and haven’t turned in the permission slip, please do that on Monday!

Friday, February 1st , we have Family First Friday from 8:00-9:00 AM. Please join us for a free cup of coffee from our barista Daniel’s Coffee Cart and some information about our school from me.

The speech contest for grades 4th, 5th, and 6th graders is at 9:00 AM. You are welcome to attend to hear our great Eagle speakers.

If you have not done so yet, please make sure to pick up and turn in your Zone transfer applications. My pen is ready to sign them! The sooner they all are in, the easier it is to do student enrollment projections for the next school year. Turning in your Zone Transfer applications really help me out with this! Thanks.

Kindergarten registration is coming soon, beginning February 20th. If you have an incoming kindergartener, you can pick up registration materials as early as February 6th. Please make sure to let family and friends know that Allen School has plenty of space for kindergarten. Since we are at it, I have tons of space in 5th and 6th grade too, so spread the word!

English Language Learners will take the English Language Proficiency Assessment during the week of February 4th through 8th. Please make sure students have a great night’s sleep, a good breakfast, and are here at school and on time. Parents of those students will get a letter from me in their backpacks with more information.

Oh, one more thing. Just as a reminder, all students need to report to the playground first thing in the morning for supervision. Even if you as a parent you are supervising them before school starts, everyone needs to be on the playground. This allows for uninterrupted time for our teachers to plan for a great day of learning for our kids. We really appreciate it.

Well, that is it for now. See you bright and early for our Monday Morning Meet up at 8:50 sharp!
