Events this Week
A friendly reminder of all the amazing district and school events coming up soon… Our district’s 130th Anniversary Celebration is this Thursday at Hedenkamp Elementary. There will be free food and giveaways! Hedenkamp is located at 930 East Palomar Street, Chula Vista, CA 91913. Parking will be available on East Palomar Street.
To help alleviate parking frustration, the district will also be providing free shuttle service to and from Hedenkamp Elementary from both Parkview Elementary and Heritage Elementary for the 130th Anniversary celebration on Thursday, October 20, 2022, starting at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until 7:30 p.m.
Our school’s TK Family Orientation is Friday, October 21st at 4:30 pm. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) starts on October 24th for a full day of learning (8:50 am to 3:10 am).
Our school’s Fall Festival is this Friday at Allen Elementary from 4:30 – 8 pm. The school office is still accepting candy donations for the Trick or Treat stations and we need volunteers to support the event: Please contact Gina Bennett with questions at (219) 405 – 2759 or by email at galbertinibennett@gmail.com. Students and families may choose to wear costume to the Fall Festival, as well as on October 31st for our school’s Costume Parade.
Some costume reminders:
Costume Reminders for Fall Festival (10/21) and Costume Parade (10/31)
- No gory or scary costumes.
- No weapons or props of any kind.
- No masks that cover the entire face, but COVID-19 face masks are allowed.
- Costumes should be respectful: A culture or religion is not a costume.
- No inflatable costumes. Dress code in effect.
