Tomorrow is the first day of the free, opt-in COVID-19 testing program.
Weekly COVID Testing starts tomorrow!
The free, “opt-in” COVID-19 testing program will start tomorrow, Thursday, January 27th as part of our district’s efforts to keep classrooms open and support our families with testing requirements for the state of California. We hope that you will choose to opt in and participate in this weekly testing program. No child will be tested without proper parental consent in this program.
We also do not want to test students and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days as they will likely test positive again via this PCR test. If you previously gave consent for your child to participate and have changed your mind, please notify COVID Clinic directly via email at k12@covidclinic.org before Thursday morning. Please be sure to state your name and your child’s name, as well as their school in that message. If you still need the link to give consent, it can be found here: https://school.covidclinic.org/register.
This weekly testing cart will come to the door of your child’s classroom every Thursday led by licensed and trained health care professionals to administer a PCR test via nasal swab or saliva sample collection. This weekly testing will minimize interruptions to the school instructional day while allowing us to ensure that our students, staff, and community stay safe and healthy. The district emailed an FAQ document to families earlier this week to answer some of the most common questions we have received about this testing opportunity. Soccer Tryouts
Soccer tryouts are after school on Wednesday, Jan. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 27 from 3:20 to 4:30 pm on the field. Students should plan on attending tryouts for both days. Practices will not start until the week of February 7, 2022. Per CVESD sports program guidelines, all student-athletes will need to participate in weekly testing for COVID-19 and all spectators must wear a mask that completely covers both the mouth and nose at all times. The season is set to start the week of February 28, 2022.
The Great Kindness Challenge
This week, Allen Elementary is participating in the annual, worldwide Great Kindness Challenge! We invite all staff, students, and families at Allen to participate in the official Great Kindness Challenge week this January 24 – 28, 2022. Please use the checklists below to help your child complete the challenge.

Please see the courtesy letter about a non-close contact at Allen Elementary for 1/14/2022 and 1/21/2022 as the district learned one or more individuals tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. Please note that we are notifying families and staff the day we find out about these positive cases. This is a courtesy notice and if you have not yet been notified by email or Class Dojo, your child is not considered a close contact at this time.
