Yes, there is school on Friday
In the wake of San Diego Unified’s decision to offer an optional, excused “mental health day” to its students this Friday, November 12th, we have been receiving inquiries from parents about whether CVESD will be offering the same. Friday will be business as usual for CVESD schools.
Yes, there is school this Friday, Nov. 12th. CVESD has NO plans to provide an optional mental health day this Friday following the Thursday Veteran’s Day Holiday. SDUSD students started school later than CVESD and did not have a Fall Break, as our students did. Absences this Friday will be processed in accordance with the District and State’s usual and customary absence policies. As always, parents who call students in sick on Friday should be advised that the student will need a negative PCR test in order to return to school on Monday (as applicable).

Federal Impact Aid Survey due Nov. 19th
Federal funds are provided to the school district based on the number of students enrolled in our school whose parents/guardians reside or work on Federal Property or are on active duty in the military. Kindly send the completed form by email to allenschool@cvesd.org or drop it off to the school office Monday-Friday between 8 am to 3:30 pm. This form was emailed to parents/guardians earlier.
