Happy Sunday Allen Families and Friends!
Please see the latest update from the Superintendent of our schools that was shared on July 14th, 2020. Please note the staff and I will be working diligently to provide the best experience for your child(ren) in this enhanced distance learning experience. While we would all prefer to start the school year back on campus together, the safety of our students, staff, and community is paramount. I want to reassure you that the Allen staff and I would like nothing more than to be at school safely with our Eagles when school resumes on August 31st, 2020, but that is not possible right now.
Our very own school community and the surrounding neighborhoods in Chula Vista and Bonita have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus. This virus has affected staff, students, and their families in a variety of ways. Please be sensitive to the fact that we each experience this pandemic differently. Please continue to exercise caution when interacting with anyone outside of your immediate household. This includes wearing a facial covering or mask, washing your hands frequently with water and soap for at least twenty seconds, and maintaining physical distancing.
We continue to follow the guidelines from the San Diego County Office of Education, as well as local and state public health officials: Safety must be our top priority. I pledge to keep you updated and informed.
There is a new survey (disponible en español también) from the district that is extremely important. Please take the time to complete this survey for each child in your family that currently attends Ella B. Allen Elementary School. I am proud to be a part of the Allen School community and the Chula Vista Elementary School District as we work hard behind the scenes over summer to ensure a safe return to school when it is prudent to do so. We love you and miss you Eagles! Together, we soar! 🦅
