Greetings Allen Families! As promised, we will do our very best to provide regular updates to our families and staff over the summer.
School Office Hours
The school office is currently closed to the public until August 12, 2020 so that staff can recharge and prepare for the upcoming academic year. Beginning August 12, 2020, the school office hours will be 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. If you have any questions, you may contact the school office at (619) 479-3662 and we will respond as soon as the office reopens.
We will continue to provide weekly updates on this blog every Sunday and expect to hear more details regarding what the upcoming school year will look like on July 15th. Please continue to check the district’s website, http://www.cvesd.org, and the school blog at http://www.allenelementary.org for weekly updates.
School Calendar Approved!
The CVESD Board of Education approved a revised school calendar on June 17, 2020. Classes will resume on Monday, August 31, 2020, with the last day of school on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Please note the absence of a fall break on this revised calendar as it closely mirrors traditional school year calendars of other districts in San Diego County. When schools reopen, the health and safety of students and staff will be paramount.
Yearbook Update
Earlier this week, Allen’s 2019-2020 School Yearbooks were mailed directly to the homes of families who ordered them in advance. If you have any questions, please contact Chalkboard Photography directly at info@chalkboardphotography.com.
Meeting Updates for Parents
Allen’s next PTC Meeting will be on Monday, July 13th at 6 pm. This meeting will be held virtually online in accordance with state and county health guidelines. August’s PTC Meeting will be on Monday, August 10th at 6 pm online as well. Please email john.greenwell@cvesd.org in advance of the meeting for the link to the online PTC meetings.
