Week at a Glance
In consultation with County Public Health and superintendents from school districts across San Diego County, CVESD schools will close beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. Our schools will be closed through Friday, April 3, 2020. At this time, students and staff are currently scheduled to return on Monday, April 6, 2020 for a Minimum Day Schedule. If this changes, the district and school will notify staff, parents, and families in advance.
COVID-19, School Meals, and School Closure Update
In light of the recent decision to close all Chula Vista public schools, the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) has made plans to offer meals to area children.
Regarding food service this week, March 16-20, all CVESD school sites will provide breakfast and lunch to any child between the ages of 1 to 18. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is a requirement that any child receiving food must be present when the food is served.
CVESD Child Nutrition staff will be on hand to distribute packaged food items in a paper bag. This will be grab-a-bag-and-go service.
Breakfast and Lunch service will take place in front of the school or in the school’s front office.
Due to school closures, there will be no eating areas open on campus.

New Student Registration
Kindergarten and all new student registration in the school office will continue when schools re-open in April. Please be sure to bring the following:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Updated immunization record for your child
- Government-issued identification for legal parent/guardian
- Proof of residency

If you have an incoming kindergarten student or a new student to Allen, you can pick up registration materials in the school office. Please be sure to let family and friends know that Allen School has plenty of space for students entering kindergarten. Your word-of-mouth recommendation is high praise for our school!
Zone Transfers/Inter-District Transfers
Zone Transfers (ZT) renewal forms are past
