Hello Eagles, Ms. Garcia here with some information to jot down in your calendars for next quarter.

We have some amazing news! Our students last year made incredible growth on the state test CAASPP at the end of last year. We grew by 8% to 70% in English Language Arts and 11% to 63% in math. Not only that  but we also increased significantly in scale score points for both ELA and Math putting us in the blue square in the California Dashboard 5 by 5 matrix. 3rd graders last year really knocked it out of the park with a whopping 87% in ELA and 76% in Math. Students return on October 8th and we want to celebrate our achievements with an Allen Pep Rally. Please join us for a short Tuesday Meet Up, but stay to help us create a Welcome Tunnel for Students and teachers. I will send more details in email, text message and a separate blog post. We want it to be a surprise for students. In the meantime, check your calendars for October 8th and see if you can be a little late for work that day to be part of the Welcome Tunnel. We should be done with the Pep Rally by 9:15.

We want to remind students to work on their Variety Show act during Break.  Auditions will be on Thursday, October 17.  This is such a fun time to showcase the talents of our Allen Eagles.  Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Rhoades for taking on this event once again.  The theme is Broadway.  The acts do not have to fall under that theme but they can if you’d like.

The Harvest Ball will be on Friday, October 25 from 5:30-8:00.

Kickball games will be on Wednesday’s starting October 16.  You are always welcome to come out and cheer on our Allen Eagles.

The Original Works artwork will be coming home on October 18.  This has become a yearly tradition that families look forward to in order to preserve a piece of their child’s art.  Orders will be due October 25.

Student Council will be sponsoring a Teddy Bear Drive from October 14-October 30.  All stuffed animals collected will be presented to Rady’s Children’s Hospital on Thursday October 31 when their ambulance joins us for Safety Day.  If you or a family member work for a safety agency, we would love you to join us.  Please contact the school office.

I hope you have a wonderful Break.  Students return to school on Tuesday, October 8. It will be a regular school day.
