Hello Eagles, Ms. Garcia here with your Sunday Information for July 28, 2019.
The first week of school went fast! I hope everyone has had a chance to settle in and get to know one another. If I haven’t had a chance to say hello to you yet, I hope we get to connect this week!
Students in grades 4-6 who are interested in joining Student Council, please come to a quick informational meeting on Tuesday, July 30 during recess in Room 503. Our student council is instrumental is many of our school events, so we are looking for those amazing potential leaders! Thank you to Mrs. Burnham, Ms. Linderman, and Mrs. Reza for being the Student Council Advisors and teaching critical leadership skills to our students.
Girl Scouts are holding an informational meeting on Tuesday at 5:00pm in the Auditorium
Curriculum Night is this Wednesday from 5:30-7:00pm. All parents and families please meet at 5:30 in the auditorium to meet all the teachers and for short informational meeting with me. Then, you will be released to classrooms at 6:00. There are two sessions, 6:00-6:30 and 6:30-7:00 so you can visit more than one class if you have multiple students at Allen.
Our first Family First Friday meeting is this Friday, August 2 from 8-9am. This is a time for our families to meet one another, learn more about our school along with finding volunteer opportunities. At this first meeting, we will have various after-school programs here with information to share about their companies. Please stop by, grab a free cup of coffee from the barista, Daniel’s Coffee (they have a permanent coffee cart at Spanish Village in Balboa Park and the coffee and other beverages are amazing!) and learn more about our school and opportunities for after school programs.
