Hello Eagles, Ms. Garcia here with some Sunday information for you.
What an AMAZING Field Day we had! Thank you to Mr. Way and the wonderful crew of volunteers and our spirited teachers who brought not only their time but their great energy, making it such a fun time for All!
Teacher Appreciation is the week of May 6 through May 10. Student Council created a flyer that is going home tomorrow with ideas to celebrate your teacher each day. We are grateful for our wonderful teachers who teach, guide and help us to grow every day. In addition to our classroom teachers, please don’t forget our wonderful VAPA teachers, Ms. Gilman and Ms. Farlow, along with our RSP Teacher, Mrs. Karinen and our Resource Teacher, Mrs. Sullens
Flyers also went home with information for ordering your yearbook. You may order on-line through May 8. Make sure to order yours today!
A couple other dates to mark on your calendars are: Mother/Son Games on May 24, Math Night on May 29 and the Volunteer Breakfast on May 31. More details to follow.
Finally, we are beginning what we like to call our testing season. CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) and Local Measures is starting May 1st. It is really important that we set our students up for success. A couple of proven suggestions helps our students do their best. First, make sure your children get a good night’s rest and a balanced breakfast (breakfast is served at 8:25 each day). Next, make sure students arrive to school on time at 8:50 (or a little early) and every day. Then, make sure to NOT schedule any appointments during the school day. Of course, check with your teacher for specific dates of the assessments for your child’s grade level (I will send a post on Tuesday with the entire testing schedule). Finally, keep conversations around the topic of testing positive. We know it is challenging, but it helps with the mindset for our children to focus on their own success. I know our Eagles will SOAR during this time!
Well, that is it for now, see you bright and early in the morning.
