What’s Happening? Week of August 21 through August 25

Hi Eagles!

On Monday 8/21, we will treat morning recess as we would a rainy-day schedule due to the Solar Eclipse that will be occurring. We are excited about this fantastic event, but want to make sure we keep students safe. I will have the auditorium available for students to watch the NASA live streaming or teachers may choose to keep students in the classroom as do an activity or watch the live streaming as a class. By the time lunch comes, it will be pretty much finished at noon. For Kinder students lunch, we will have students eat in the auditorium.

We will have some exciting guests on our campus Wednesdays and Thursdays from the SDSU Teacher Education Program. Allen is hosting these aspiring teachers as they take classes here to become future teachers. You may notice more adults on campus during Wednesdays and these are our SDSU Aztec students. Some of the students may teach a lesson or two in your child’s classroom under the supervision of the university and our own teachers. If you happen to see one of these scholars, give them a warm Eagle Welcome!

Coffee Chat with the principal will be on Thursday, August 24th  at 8:00 AM. This time it will be held in Room 404. We will discuss a little about our plan for student achievement and our Safety Plan. I hope to see you then!

Picture Day is coming on August 28th.  I better get my hair done before that! Flyers went home, so take a look at those to get more information. Of course, we can’t do picture day without volunteers, so thank you for helping out! If you need another from, please stop by the office.

That is it for now! See you on Monday.

Ms. Garcia
